U.S. 129, better known as The Tail of the Dragon, slithers its way across the North Carolina/Tennessee border like a snake finessing its way around each tooth of an upturned garden rake. The road is a magnet for the both two- and four-wheel performance vehicles, tourists, Sunday drivers, bicyclists and cops. It's also the convergence point for Yamaha enthusiasts attending the annual R1/R6 Forum East Coast Convention.
This past June McCoy Motorsports once again hosted what has become an annual retreat for Yamaha enthusiasts devoted to the tuning fork company's performance-leading R1 and R6 motorcycles. It was, in fact, the sixth consecutive year for the Forum convention with approximately 200 R1 and R6 riders descending on southern Appalachia to attend.

Having been given the chance to attend the 2008 Laguna Seca event hosted by Yamaha last year (2007), I could hardly wait to get off of the 5 hour plane ride this year!
As I sat on the plane chilling with Scott Russell and a few industry friends many things danced through my head like: Would Valentino take Stoner this year? What kind of surgery would THE DOCTOR put on the competition! Cypress, CA.-July 15, 2008 - Yamaha and Ben and Eric Bostrom are pleased to announce the return of the Boz Bros Custom Bike Show to the list of activities for this year?s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on July 18-20th.
Presented by the Boz Bros, 2 Wheel Tuner Magazine and Yamaha, the show will include Pro built bikes by many of the country's premier Sport Bike builders. The show will also include the top 10 winners of the 2008 Yamaha Virtual SuperSport Bike Show contest, who received full 3-day Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix race passes as part of their award.

Wow! What a great time we had at our June school session. It was a celebrity-filled event beginning with four-time Supersport Champion Tom Kipp as our celebrity instructor. Kent Kunitsugu, Editor of Sport Rider Magazine, attended along with his photographic genius, the one and only Brian J. Nelson. The 2 Xtreem TV crew were there to film Motorcross Champion April Hodges aka "Lil Hodge Podge" as she experienced her first road course on our Yamaha YZF-R6. Top Professional Supercross rider Troy Adams demonstrated that he just naturally has what it takes to ride a motorcycle. After learning the track on our R6, Troy quickly moved up to the YZF-R1.
